Greetings from Chiang Mai, Thailand. We're visiting some friends in the northern province for a few days. We hiked to a tribal village, rode elephants through the jungle and shot the rapids on bamboo rafts on the (fill in the name of a river here) river. (it was something with a lot of vowels)
We also bought enough stuff to require purchasing an extra suitcase to bring home our loot. Souveniers are cheap and plentiful and handmade. Including our "homemade" dvds. (We own several seasons of television shows and more movies than we have time or interest to watch. But at two dollars each, it's tough to stop buying.)
We fly to Phuket tomorrow. We see on CNN that an earthquake has struck Indonesia. No tsunami this time so all should be well in southern Thailand. We'll keep you posted.
