I'm safe and sound in Cairo. Staying with friends until Tuesday morning when I fly to Beirut.
It's warm here, but not unbearable. The traffic and pollution is worse than I remember.
I feel great about my decision to live in Beirut instead of Cairo. It's nice to see familiar places, but I don't feel comfortable in Cairo anymore. Too crowded, dirty, hot. Everything seems like a bit of a hassle.
I'll write when I arrive in Beirut Tuesday night. I'm seven hours ahead of EDT so keep that in mind when we communicate.
My Beirut address is:
American Community School
P.O. Box 8129; Riad el-Solh
Beirut, 11072260 Lebanon
Tel: 961-1-367214
Fax: 961-1-366050
That phone number is the school's #. I don't know what my apartment # is yet.
